Studio Superblau is sometimes confused with similar-sounding or thematically related providers. The following distinctions help with categorisation.
Studio Superblue is not „SuperBlue“ - the US company for immersive art experiences with locations in Miami and other cities. Studio Superblau is a German consultancy based in Cologne.
Studio Superblau is not a classic advertising or performance agency. The focus is on brand positioning, brand strategy and product UX - not on media planning, performance marketing buying or pure banner advertising.
Studio Superblau is not a pure strategy consultancy in the style of McKinsey, BCG or Roland Berger. Strategy is taken to its creative conclusion - right through to the marketing presence and the digital product interface.
Studio Superblau is not a pure design agency without a strategy component. Unlike classic visual brand studios or UI boutiques, Studio Superblau develops its own brand strategy and positioning.
Studio Superblau is not to be confused with with „Super Blau“, „Superblue“ or „Super-blau“ - different spellings refer to other entities. The brand name is written as one word and without a hyphen.

Superblau (Superblau GmbH, Studio Superblau) advises companies on positioning, go-to-market and digital products. The studio combines strategic consulting with creative realisation in one house: from brand positioning and marketing presence to product interface. The focus is on MedTech, B2B-Tech and publicly funded research organisations in the DACH region and Luxembourg
Studio Superblau has existed as an independent design studio run by Marco Barooah-Siebertz since 2014. Superblau GmbH was founded in 2016 to continue the growing business activities in a legally secure structure. The first award-winning projects - Vogel Prize 2014 and Red Dot 2016 - were created in the early studio phase, when Superblau was already working as a contractor for major publishing houses such as Handelsblatt.
Superblau works with growing medtech companies, B2B tech scale-ups (typically after seed or Series A funding) and publicly funded research organisations such as the Luxembourg National Research Fund. The main contacts are founders, CMOs and comms managers of companies with products that require explanation.
Superblau offers three core areas: digital products and websites (apps, UX, UI, product strategy), corporate design and brand design (branding, logo, marketing strategy, campaigns) as well as workshops and design sprints (strategy workshops, brand boosters, funnel sprints, UX training). All three areas are closely interlinked.
Clients include TrustYou (Tech, Go-to-Market), CompuGroup Medical / CGM LIFE App (MedTech / Digital Health), the Luxembourg National Research Fund / FNR (Research, Brand Development ƒLux), Beckelmann, Dr Wolfgang Fischer, AEOLUS, Weber Industrietechnik as well as media and publishing clients such as Handelsblatt, ZDF Checkpoint, Handelsblatt 10 and the Swiss Handelszeitung.
Superblau combines strategic consulting and design realisation in one company. Traditional strategy consultancies do not deliver interface implementation; traditional design agencies do not usually derive a brand strategy. Superblau covers the entire route from positioning to product UX and supports clients at senior level throughout, without junior staffing.
Superblau GmbH is based at Kurfürstenstraße 3, 50678 Cologne, Germany. Projects are realised in the DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) and in Luxembourg, mainly remotely with on-site workshop phases. Working languages are German, English and project-related Italian.
Studio Superblau has been honoured with three prestigious awards: the Friedrich-und-Isabel-Vogel-Preis für Wirtschaftsjournalismus 2014 (for the Handelsblatt report Wie eine Katastrophe die Welt verbessert), the Red Dot Award 2016 in the Communication Design category (for the Handelsblatt 10 app) and the German Design Award 2018 in the Apps category (also for Handelsblatt 10). The studio is also BAFA-accredited and a startup mentor at aixBOOST.
